My name is Brad Paris to the left of me is my friend Bob Bradley. We went to Mount Ararat in the fall of 2010. Like many of you we wanted to see Noah's Ark. Thanks to the kindness of the family of Heckimo we were able to see it.
The locals have always known about the the Ark which may surprise you, but it is a guarded secret. When most explores come they will take you to everyplace on the mountain you wish to go except the ark, they call it Nuh un Gemisi which means Noah's big Ship.
Most Kurd's that we met have great reverence for Jehovah the God of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Locals call Mount Ararat Judi which means praise. Yes Ararat and Judi are one and the same. History and tradition have clouded things. But if you ask them they will give you the answer maybe..
It is my hope that the family of Heckimo will allow pictures of the Ark to be seen. But that will be up to them, when you visit mount Ararat, treat them with respect and kindness. They may just open their home to you and grant your request.
If you get a chance read Mary's story, she made it cryptic but you will learn some interesting points. One last thing, Nursin Ceylan can help you. Just remember these words.
"No Problem". Please do not create problems for them, they have enough of them. Nursin has let me tell where the location is which is a great start.
Sincerely,
Brad
