Measuring on Google Earth

Please note that if you use Google Earth on Mount Ararat you must double the measurement.  For instance, the Ark is 76' wide but on Google it will show 36'.  You can verify what I am saying by measuring cars.  They average 14' 6", but on Mount Ararat they will only measure 6' to 7'.  (A Mini cooper is approx. 10') Also Satellite and Photos have resolution diminished, and key areas are shadowed out.  Area is classified.  This is part of the reason you cannot see the Ark, besides the fact that the majority is covered by lava rock at about 14,000 feet (4200 meters).

  • Scale & Appearance: The Ark is depicted as a gargantuan, weathered wooden vessel—456 feet long, 76 feet wide, and 45.6 feet high (based on your 18.24" cubit).  300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high.  Vent Shaft 1-cubit high length of Ark.
  • The 1917 Expedition: To capture the historical context of the Tzar’s expedition, the scene features Russian Imperial Guards in period uniforms navigating the rugged ravine.
  • Volcanic Terrain: Much of the Ark’s massive hull is shown partially encased and covered by dark, jagged volcanic rock, reflecting reports of it being buried by lava flows on Mount Ararat.
  • The Ventilation Shaft: Running the entire length of the flat roof is a distinct 18.24-inch ventilation shaft, designed for airflow throughout the structure.
